Ruby Doom Album Release

Ruby Doom is an Ontario-based DIY girl punk band with a cult-following fanbase and multiple albums released under their name. I had the opportunity to design the visual identity for their latest (at the time) album release; From Venus. The overall aesthetic revolved around a retro-futurism, sci-fi space theme and utilized neon, chrome and vintage motifs.

The main challenge for this album release was effectively capturing the visual theme that Ruby Doom envisioned. The release process involved releasing 2 singles which required their own covers, the cover for the album itself, and 2 posters for album release tours and shows. Each component needed a unique design that still represented the bands vision and remained visually cohesive.

The identity of From Venus turned out to be an effective representation of Ruby Doom. The combination of posters and media covers garnered excitement from listeners, and thousands of plays on their songs. The retro-futurism theme suited the energy of the album and all parties involved with this project were very happy with the final result!
