The Grad Collective is the permanent identity for the Fanshawe College Fashion Design program's annual graduation event. Unlike a traditional runway show, this event is immersive, studio-driven, and reflects how fashion design actually works today. Elements of research, experimentation, process, refinement, and collaboration are on display. For this project, I was responsible for presenting a logo solution that would encompass all the values of The Grad Collective. The main challenge was creating a logo that serves as a permanent identity rather than a one-off event. The logo was also to be versatile as it would be scaled down to tiny garment tags as well as be displayed upon large environmental signage. The logo should be clean, flexible, durable and timeless. It should also avoid literal fashion imagery (needles, ties etc.), luxury cliches, fast fashion aesthetics and dates or years.
